Brainstorming...

I love making DIY kits. I think, because I have learned how to do so many crafty things the hard way! Now that I know, I want to make it easier for other people.  That way maybe they won't freak out when thet dye their counter along with the silk, or end up covered in glue because they used too much. Not that that ever happened to me...

So...this week, I'm brainstorming new DIY kits for my shop. If you have any ideas, I want to hear them!

I should mention that if you comment on this post by Nov 20, 2010 I will enter you in my latest Giveaway!

  1. How about something "food related"...I know that this wouldn't help people who are trying to craft, but if you have a little kid it might be fun to do. Remember that soup that you made us, what about something like that- but seperated into more parts....or diy cookies for a little kid ("just add milk etc" and provide a cookie cutter (or figure out some way they could make their own...or they could make their own cookie jar)).

  2. What about gift kits? Like a picture frame kit for the grandparents, or a cute apple craft for a teacher? That would make it super easy for mom's to have their kiddos make a personal handmade gift for someone special.

  3. I think a child friendly card making kit would be darling. I'm always trying to have my kids make hand made cards for others---and they end up great. But, I'd love it the process was made easier with a kit.

  4. What about a clothes pin or cornshuck doll kit? Kits that are for boys are awesome too, but I can't think of anything either :)

  5. Erin took mine. Clothes pin dolls are so fun and there are so many options of things you can put in there. Fabric scraps, pom poms, yarn, ric rac, sequins, scrapbook paper scraps, etc. Also, I saw clothes pins that were different skin shades so that could be nice too.

  11. Kids love to rubber stamp, maybe you could put a kit together with paper, stamps, ink, and markers. Then they can make homemade thank cards or just cards to give to their famiy and friends.

  18. Hmmm...maybe you could make one of those spool loom kits where they make the spool and then knit a potholder (spiral-type) or something else with it.

  19. You could design little wooden blocks that have three parts-face, torso and legs. Then kids could play by stacking them and creating different looking people. I loved those growing up.

  28. When my kids were small (a bazillion years ago), we used to make cookie cutter bread dough ornaments, then paint and sometimes glitter them. I think that would make a great kit - a little bread dough mix, a cookie cutter, some paint markers, some glitter, and a pretty gold cord to hang it with.
